Just love a turn of phrase.
Hence the song below. All comments welcome. Rob

Wall Flower

(Wall \Flower: a shy or excluded person at a dance or party, especially a girl without a partner.)

Wallflower not noticed at all
Wallflower no belle of the ball
Wallflower can you hear them call
Poor little wall flower have no fun at all.

Chorus
I see you sitting on that stool.
Hey I'm no bodies fool.
I will sweep you off those, sweet little feet
Your no wallflower to me.

Bridge

Chorus
I see you sitting on that stool.
Hey I'm no bodies fool.
I will sweep you off those sweet little feet
Your no wallflower to me.

Wallflower not noticed at all
Wallflower no belle of the ball
Wallflower can you hear them call
Poor little wall flower have no fun at all.

Chorus
I see you sitting on that stool.
Hey I'm no bodies fool.
I will sweep you off those sweet little feet
Your no wallflower to me.
Your no wallflower to me.
Your no wallflower to me.

Love the arrangement, excellent vocal. I love the pedal guitar flourishes! And clocking in at under 2:30, wow!

Nits - where the strings drop out at 1:31, it sounds like you change the reverb or something. It seems the reverb tail drops off around 1:42, which makes the vocal sort of stick out.

I really enjoy hearing your tunes - they're retro and a lot of fun to listen to. Thanks for posting! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

What a tune! This has such a genuine, authentic feeling to it. It reminds me of something from the late 50's/early 60's. The vocals remind me a bit of Elvis at time. The way you incorporated the falsetto worked flawlessly here.

You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing smile

Nice and bouncy...got a cinematic feel to it for a retro film, etc.

Enjoyed your performance and the band's!

dcuny's reference points are spot on Rob.
I also noticed that the essing is less an issue when the reverb drops away. You should look into the fine settings of the reverb and try to low or high pass it around the essing frequency.
Good tune and performance - just a few tweaks needed.

Cheers

Your vocals always have such a rich, warm tone to them ... perfect for this material.
Lots of subtle things happening here that kick things up a notch. Those background vocals during the verses for example.
"Band" sound good, Steel especially sounds great!
Good song!
