Hi All, This is a song that I wrote many years ago. I was never quite satisfied with the recording or tracks selection. There was also another verse that was not included in the original. So, here is a brand new updated version of the song. This is called Here In Woodstock. Had a vision of Rick Danko By the foot of the mountain He was singing like an angel In a garden by a fountain Here in Woodstock Yeah here in Woodstock Felt the space of January Like ashes on the radar He was painting all the words By the bright light of a blackstar Here in Woodstock Yeah here in Woodstock Read the lyrics in a window In a bookstore here on Tinker He was writing about freedom For all the young free thinkers Here in Woodstock Yeah here in Woodstock Heard drums from the old barn Just a bit after midnight He was working out a backbeat On a kit under the moonlight Here in Woodstock Yeah here in Woodstock Lived in an old blue house Across from the Sawkill river In the shadow of the Zena cornfield Where the autumn gold delivers Here in Woodstock Yeah here in Woodstock Here in Woodstock Yeah here in Woodstock Here in Woodstock Yeah here in Woodstock BIAB Tracks: 2877: Bass, Acoustic, AmericanaSLow16thsByron Ev16 060 0364: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Ev 065 3622: Guitar, Electric, Rhythm, AmbientBalladSpacey Ev16 065 2504: Piano, Acoustic, HeldChords 060 RealDrums: AmericanaRoots16th^01-a:Toms, b:Snare As always - thanks for listening! Oh, yeah, Bob Dean! Really dig Rick Danko. Never met him, but a good friend of mine hung around with him all the time. Outstanding lyrics, and the perfect band playing the background for your terrific delivery. Such a good write, and pleasurable listen.

Bob...another great tune...I really like the band you assembled...the ambient guitar gives a distant, distinct and deep aspect to the instrumentals.. I found the song very peaceful...your vocals are always unique and captivating...I really enjoyed the listen!

Bob,
This is glorious and I remember the very first version of the song like I heard it yesterday. It's what turned me on to Bob Dean's music in the first place.
When I was writing my new hit song "Bob Dean" I searched for it forever but couldn't find it because it had been taken down and my heart was broken because I wanted to quote from it in my new hit single, Bob Dean.
But now I have your even more beautiful and longer extended version I know that I've got nothing to worry about because I'm going to release my new hit single which is Bob Dean Part 2.
It is titled Bob Dean Part II: Tangled up in News.
I'm writing it even as we speak as my wife and I are traveling through the heartland of America, currently passing through North Dakota on our way to Minnesota.
It is going to be an hour and a half long, the longest song ever written.
This is what I have so far.
Bob Dean Part II: Tangled Up in News The Epic Second Movement of an Epic Trilogy
In the purple mountains Majesty Beneath a greasy Exxon sign I'm going to steal a train to Woodstock And leave this burning prairie far behind Because I'm battered and I'm shattered but God knows I'm still alive And I hate the news but I love the blues And with Bob Dean I will survive With Bob Dean I will survive

David, That's very nice of you. I do remember the nice things you said about the song back then. It meant a lot... LOL! If anyone can write a song that runs 1 1/2 hours long, it's you! I like what you have so far. Enjoy your trip - that's beautiful country out there. Bob

Bob, you picked the perfect musicians to back up your fantastic vocal for this song.
Great lyrics. Super mix. Loved the groove and the song.

An excellent song Bob & any track that references RD gets a bonus good thing. The atmospheric guitar as punctuation works well and does give some mystic woodness BUT I thin it's too loud or too forward in the mix. Cool.

Don't know anything about the place or person you mentioned, but it sounds wonderful! Of course I heard from Woodstock, but in antother sense. I think. But the sphere that comes to me when you sing about all this feels like peace... Just me, listening to your so nice song. I enjoyed it, although it also makes me a bit sad... Good song, Robert,
Hans

I like the split between the acoustic and piano. The two instruments give the song a contemplative feels. Excellent lyrics once again.

Excellent atmosphere and as always, perfect lyrics. You have a gift for those, Bob. I was waiting for a bridge to bring it all together but it's good as it stands. Vic

Thanks very much. Yes, I think that guitar could come down a bit. I may revisit.

This has a very dreamy quality to the sound reminiscent of a Daniel Lanois production.
We enjoyed the great lyric as it painted a full sensory picture of the musicians and the place.
Your vocal fits so well with that combo of electric guitar RT and the acoustic. Excellent mix and that vibey electric guitar was perfect.
We’re glad you revived this song!
