Hello forum members
At the end of January I had the idea to start a project in our forum, in which as many artists as possible should participate.
When I told Marty about it, he was very enthusiastic about it.
So I already had a bass player ;-)))
I wrote a song which should give the different artists the possibility to bring in their style.
The song should take the listener on a journey to let him experience the creation of our songs.

Music Comes From Our Hearts was born.

Once I had the artists for the project complete, the most exciting phase of this project began.
Communicating with all the artists through a translator turned out to be much more time consuming than I had thought ;-)
Since this was my first project, it soon turned out that I hadn't planned everything perfectly either...
But all the artists worked absolutely professionally on this song and also had their fun.
And only because of that a really extraordinary song was created.

I would like to thank everyone involved for the great cooperation.
It was fun and that's what counts !

Many greetings
Andi ;-)

And here are the artists who brought this song to life:

Anne-Marie (RnAM) - Vocals
Torrey Bliss - Vocals
David Snyder - Vocals
Hans (Birchwood) - Vocals
David (Deej56) - Vocals
Scott (Ezekiel's Storm) - Vocals
Andi (PROJECT M) - Vocals
Marty (BabuMusic) - Bass
Wolfgang (PROJECT M) - Solo Guitar
Dave (BlueAttitude) - Solo Guitar & Fills

And Rob (RnAM) who mixed this song under difficult conditions and created a fantastic sound !

THE SONG:

Wolfgang (PROJECT M) - Intro Guitar Solo

David (Deej56)
Our whole life is full of surprises, some good and some bad.
And now we look at the horizon to sort them in our heads.

Hans (Birchwood)
When all these things come together now the feeling shapes the song,
and ideas get wings. We are hope for a wow, but the song is what counts and beyond.

Torrey Bliss
Oh, music, music is our life. You know that it comes from our hearts.
And as we write it we hope you catch the feel of the song, and then your journey can start.
Oh, music, music is our life. You know that it comes from our hearts,
and it's your entry into the world of our dreams and our thoughts.
Just like a sea of the stars.

David Snyder
Really everyday of our lives is something so special.
We can learn from it. We can grow inside.
It's our passion and we can't hide it.

Scott (Ezekiel's Storm)
And all these things come together now. The feelings shapes the song.
Ideas get wings. We hope for a wow, but the song is what counts and beyond.

Anne-Marie (RnAM)
Music, music is our life, and you know... you know it comes from our hearts
And as we sing it we hope you catch the feel of the song, and then your journey can start.
Music, music is our life, and you know it comes from our hearts.
It is your entry into the world of our dreams and our thoughts.
Just like a sea of stars.

Dave (BlueAttitude) - Main Guitar Solo

Andi (PROJECT M)
Music, the music is our life and comes from our hearts
And we will try that you really feel the song, your journey can start
Music, the music is our life and comes from our hearts
It is your entry into our world of thoughts just like a sea of stars

And not to forget Marty's (BabuMusic) fantastic bass work !!!

What a brilliant idea. And it was done in fine fashion by all involved. Top quality work on all accounts.

Excellent job on writing such an uplifting song.

It was a pleasure to do the mix for this project. I consider this a very tiny (humble) taste of the challenges Trevor Horn and Quincy Jones had with Band-Aid and USA for Africa back in the day, LOL.

I think Andi did a very good job composing this and coming up with the idea to make this a shared performance. All the singers gave their very best and came up with interesting performances, which were fun to mix into the song's arrangement.

But there are a couple of other things to take note of. First, there's the stable and steady bass by Marty. A real asset, I only hope I did it enough justice in the mix...

Second, I read only just now that the lead guitars were actually played by two different guitarists! You can't blame me, I only worked on this project in multi-track view in Cubase (the project was neatly prepared by Anne-Marie, but the tracks view only said: "guitar 1", "guitar 2", "bass", "organ" etc.). Anyway, the guitars sound very much alike which is really functional in this song. Wolfgang's intro guitar sets the right tone immediately, seamlessly connecting to the first vocal part. And the way Dave's main solo kicks in right after Anne-Marie's vocal is simply great.

Well done all!

Rob

Thanks you so much for thinking, planning, organizing, writing and arranging this masterpiece, Andi, and for making everyone feel so comfortable along the way. A brilliant idea and collectively so well done. And thanks everyone for doing your parts so professionally. I love the song. It's packed with emotion and sincerity.

Rob, thanks for mixing, but I got to distinguish you from Quincy & Trevor. They had everyone in the same studio with the same everything, which had to make it a hundred times easier than your task for this one. I've heard all those tracks as they came in, and Dave and I laid our parts down when all of the various parts together sounded like a Frankenstein recording. We knew the beauty was within and you brought it out so well. Hey, I have a version of We Are The World done on my website with just my vocal. Piece o' cake.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Andi,

A pleasure to participate in this project. You’ve written a terrific tune—really impressive how it all came together.

I do have to give a shout out to Rob. Having heard the song in its early stages, with all the disparate vocals and musical parts, I wondered how it could all possibly come together. Rob knocked it out of the park . . . it sounds like we are all pretty much in the same room . . . which we weren’t . . . not even close . . . but in the end the mix was excellent! The hero of this tune!

Stay well all,

Deej

Hi Andi and Rob,

I want to underline what Deej wrote here!
But I also want to express (again) to you, Andi, what a nice idea it was to start this project with members of the forum!
The song, the lyrics, the solo, were all from your hand and some of your friends. You did a nice job on that!

And we, the singers? Well it was very good of you, Andi, you never lost your patience... wink

When it comes to Rob; well you did a great job making all our 'horrible' vocals sound so smooth and in line with each other.

I heard there will be a follow up on this project. Maybe now the whole forum needs to participate. That won't be so difficult, does it?
After all, this project was real fun!

Nice day,
Hans

Andi,

What a fantastic idea! You've included some of my favorites from this forum. I've really enjoyed listening to this. Everyone did a great job. From the outside looking in, this is just an incredible project from everyone involved. All of your own personalities and talents shine and are blended into one piece of music that has come together and blended perfectly. I never heard what it sounded like before, but the final project ... Wow! Thanks to all those involved for making a great project that the rest of us can enjoy. Great job.
