Lollie 2

Hi all,

I felt like having another try with voice resynthesis. (My first effort was done 1 ½ years ago).
Vocals are made with Harmor from FL-Studio and Presets Lollievox.
That means I can’t use my own lyrics but am dependent on the text snippets they
offer.
This time I used snippets which were released as a complete song by the voice supplier:
http://music.lollievox.com/track/so-far-away. It’s interesting to compare what melody the words were supposed to use and what I came out with.
The samples are all sung on one note. The rhythm is given and inspires me for my own tune.
The voice follows the velocity and the pitch of a MIDI file. You only must find the starting points of the different words. Even harmonies are possible in one go. (as I did in the chorus).
Here are the lyrics:
The moon is shining and I'm feeling high
everyone is out getting ready to play
There's a latin beat on the radio
And it's taking me so far away

Neon signs in the black blue sky
are telling me we're on our way
there's romance in the air tonight
And I feel like I'm on holiday.

Far away/yeah/yeah
far away/yeah/yeah
so far away/yeah /yeah/
far away/yeah/yeah

RTs used:
RealDrums-BossaBrushes
RT921_Bass, Acoustic, Bossa Ev 110
RT924_Guitar, Electric, Rhythm BossaGrooveComp Ev 110

RT2142_Sax, Baritone, Soloist BossaGary Ev 140
RT2593_Horn Section, Background CroonerBigBand9-Part Sw 110

I added some Garritan Strings and NI Session Horns.

I hope you enjoy

Outstanding track!! Love the vibe. Sort of a more modern, edgy Sade. I guess I'm not getting what voice resynthesis is. Everything about the song, the arrangement, and the mix is awesome!! Great job! Take care. Greg

This indeed sounds very good Guenter!

I hadn't heard of Harmor before but I will check it out.
Let's see if it's cheaper than Vocaloid.

Intriguing and clever - like the laid back bossa feel a lot.
Nice track, good melody well produced.

You just never fail to impress. The whole feel, the song, the ambiance is just so good. I can hear the genius of Michael Franks in here. The delivery is superb. Going back for a further listen.
Thanks again for another slice of genius.

I like the underlying song. Nice latin groove going on.... the vocals... well, not so much.

Hi Guenter,

Overall a very good song, nice groove, nice changes and great mix. I'm not mad about that vocal, but I guess that is the new thing? I'm just old and set in my ways I guess :P

Guenter it's a great sounding arrangement and I imagine took a lot of work. I confess to you that I'm not much of a fan of the vocaloid sound - but nonetheless you do a great job with it.

Hello, Guenter

This song is very interesting for me.
I liked Harmor from FL-Studio Presets Lollievox very much.
I like the song which bridge has the same chord progression as “Recado Bossa”.
Crooner Horns are very tasteful.
I enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best Regards.

Guenter,

Stunning arrangement. The layering of the horns is spectacular!

The balance between the piano rhythm and the percussion is excellent.

The song itself works perfectly against the musical background. The vocal works really well - like any of today's "processed" pop vocals. After many listens it becomes a truly integral part of the piece.

Top-level production. Beautiful, excellent work.

Music as it should be done.

Hi Rob,

thanks a lot.
"Let's see if it's cheaper than Vocaloid."
I got the Lollievox Presets for a special pricing
of 19 $! But I had the full packet of FL Studio
including Harmor before.
