Another collab. from John Vaughan and I. I'm not great at genre cataggories but how about Soft Rock? Hows the mix? Hey Vic...I'm listening on earbuds and the mix sounds fine....the drums IMO are eating up the mix...I'm not sure I like the 16ths...I'd love to hear it with a solid rock 8ths beat kit...good write as usual...your material is always quality stuff!

Good song with a nice upbeat feel and a story that a lot of people can relate to.
I agree with Dan about the drums, I think they are to busy for the song.

Cool, Vic. You and John are on a roll, and I'm glad we get to hear it. Well written with a catchy melody and relatable lyrics. I like the vocal alot, but agree with Dan above about the drums. The song could be more dynamic if you use different (simpler) drums for the verses and save this busy one for the choruses. Still, I might be grasping at straws to make such a good song better when it's already so good.

Vic,
I like this tune! I have no problem with the busy drums in the verses! As long as they fit your vision for the song is all that matters! Great vocal! I wish BIAB realtracks would do realistic pushes slightly ahead of the beat, without having to manually edit the individual tracks (ie: the chorus section in this) but I guess the tech hasn't advanced that far yet! Still fine work though!
Thanks, T
I'm a peripheral visionary! I can see the future but only way off to the sides! SW

Thanks Firesong. You could be right about the drums. Maybe too busy in the choruses. I'll take a look.

Thank you Marty. I thought the drums were busier in the chorus but maybe a little too busy. I switched to a different kit now.

Vic,
I like the BAND. On my speakers, i thought the drums were okay. A nice driving rhythm to the track and the melody. I thought there was a mis-match between the drive of the track and the message of the lyric. Your 3rd verse switches from 2nd person to 3rd person. I like your vocals on this.

Thanks Torrey. Yes, BIAB isn’t perfect yet. The pushes drop some notes just when you need them. Maybe one day it’ll come.

Thanks Floyd. You probably listened to the new drum version. Well spotted on that line in the 3rd verse. I missed that one. Changed now.
I'll keep the style though. It's more of an unrequited, or one sided love song. The style expresses a little anger I think.

i'm ok with the drums...maybe given the song style a less strident forward and more subtle 'snare' ??.
nice lyrics.

This is great. For genre, it kind of reminds of acoustic Who, or something from Tommy. I would never utter the Who and soft rock in the same breath so I don't know man. Who songs?? Who are you??? Pete Townshend?? Classic rock????

Thanks David. Strange you should mention The Who. The first band I was in at the age of 15 had Roger Daltrey as our vocalist. It seemed like soft rock then.
