Hi All,

Here's a folky little song about a place not too far from me. This is called WATERTOWN.

Drove my car into Allendale
Stopped for the night in the wind and hail
I’m a bit too tired to make the rounds
When the morning comes I’ll make Watertown

Your sister said you were doing well
I guess that’s true as far as I can tell
You left the dog behind and he’s been down
Now he’s my ride or die up to Watertown

This town is filled with ghosts and bones
Your mother’s house you now call home
I did some right and I did some wrong
But it’s a shame that we’re both alone

The Saint Lawrence River I have found
Cradle the Northern Lights as they go down
I’ll be here if you’ll be around
I’ll be here in Watertown
Meet me here in Watertown
Meet me here in Watertown

Hi Bob ...

You have a unique sound that's just so enjoyable. And you're so talented at mixing acoustic tracks.

I love this part of the lyric:

This town is filled with ghosts and bones
Your mother’s house you now call home
I did some right and I did some wrong
But it’s a shame that we’re both alone

I'm still smiling after having listened. Marvelous!

When I came back from Vietnam, my MOS (job skill) was over-strength everywhere in the US. So, they assigned me to a place called Camp Pickett, VA. It's in the middle of nowhere (sorry, residents of Blackstone!). But I became good friends with a fellow from Watertown named Jamie Stellar. For whatever reason, his name and hometown have stayed with me all these years. That was in 1967.

A marvelous song and presentation.

Alan

Hi Bob
Wow
That is such a cool song
Excellent sung and played
You kept the band very minimalistic - It really hit the spot.
And at the end the cello - Perfect
Really a very good production Bob
Many greetings
Andi ;-)

Bob,

Such good stuff!

Another excellent BAND. Really nice sound to the drums. Your productions ALWAYS make me look back to your list of RTs to see what acoustic guitar track you are using (done right).

Strong vocal.
Strong mix.
Strong Write.

What a wonderfully unique sound you have, Bob. Your lyrics flow so well unravelling the story. Well done! A very enjoyable mix with just the right players, and your vocal rises to the top like it should.

Enjoy whatever happens!

I'm far from an expert in this genre, but I like it.
I miss a chorus, though, but even without one it's a good song, nice vocals and well produced.
Enjoyed the listen...

Really cool sound and story though I found the repeated final line a bit of a let down...I don't know why.
The limited pallet really highlighted the narrative.

I like the breakup story. Yep. Ditto on the excellent choice for tracks.

Another good song.

Bob,

I think one of my favorite writes from you . . . earthy and tangible, full of sweet detail and atmosphere. The production is stellar as always . . .really like the cello and the loop, which add some great flavor. Outstanding stuff!

All my best,

Deej

Another enjoyable melancholy tune, I really like how the wistful lyrics and the sentimental band meet.
The arrangement works very well, the simple piano and the cello are nice flavors. The vocal is nicely peaceful.
Funny that I can recognize and remember that picking RealTrack number, 2914. Used it myself also.

Bob,
Very airy tune. Excellent arrangement and performance! Mix is super clean. The Watertown, I assume upstate.
Thank you for sharing.
