Ah, a Jelly Roll classic, and you perform it magnificently, Nigel. Don Clark does a masterful job on the trumpet. Superb mix. You really captured the feel elegantly and added new life.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Nigel,
There`s such a nice timbre and relaxed feel to your vocal on this- in the zone- and that trumpet is sweet.
A fine interpretation!

Love the laid back groove happening with this. Vocal is spot on, love the vibrato, and the trumpet sounds great.

Good stuff Nigel and Don, enjoyed!

Excellent overall sound and the trumpet and vocals are top notch.

Your voice really reminds me of Amos Garret.

Great work.

Cool, a pace that folk fear these days but when the narrative and melody are as well done as this a stroll is GREAT. JRM's version was more a walk, stop, turn, walk on thing but the stroll is cool.

Howdy Nigel....

Well done all around.
It has a very appealing 40's vibe to my aging ears.
Very good vocal performance.

I like it.

Back to it....

Hi Nigel,

Seeing that title, I thought this must be about me. And no, don't tell me I'm not that important to sing about. That breaks the mythe!
I don't know that LaMothe guy from 1890 or his song. I could have looked it up on the internet, but I decided not to and just listened to your 'cover'.
Well, I must say, impressive! At first I thought it was an instrumental, but there was your voice. Very good (again), Nigel!

I'm not really a jazz fan. I accompanied my father to the North Sea Jazz festivals in the Hague years ago. it started in the days Oscar Peterson had a performance there. I was impressed then. But I got an overkill on jazz too. That's why I said I'm no real fan. I started to hate men like you wink

But I enjoyed how you sing this song and also how the trumpet played it's part. Beautiful!
So, for me you did a great job with this cover. And realy 4 thumbs up (my wife too)!

Hans
