Hi All. Enjoying some great tunes here lately!!! Thanks for all the kind comments on my last post. I read them all but did not get to respond to many......off on vacation to Spain, which is beautiful!! This is a song about saying goodbye to a friend (after they're gone). Nice, sweet sad song Greg. Very good writing and production - I think. Jazz is not my strong suit (not sure I have a strong suit), but in any case, this production made me feel like I was sitting front and center and able to take it all in. Vocals were extremely good too!

Hi Greg,
My kinda music.
Lovely melody and well sung (as always). Great opening.
My only suggestion is you may consider rolling off the bass on your vocals - this would not affect the lovely breathy quality of your singing.

Greg, this song really hit home with me. We are going to our 5th funeral Monday, all of them friends.

Your music is always magic. I truly admire your talent.
This is such a beautiful song. I seriously doubt anyone could sing this better than you. But one voice that comes to mind is Steve Tyrell. He's my favorite contemporary Jazz vocalist. he has the name, but you have the equal, or better, talent. You have the upper hand in the big picture because you not only sing the heck out the songs - you also write, arrange, and produce them, too. I say this all the time: Greg Johnson should be a household name. No apology for the redundancy.
Got to Spain twice when I lived in Europe. Went to Madrid, Zaragoza, and Barcelona. Have a great vacation - it's a beautiful country.

What a great voice you have! Wait a minute, seems that I have said that many times in the past....still true!! It doesn't get any better than this! Great song that may be fiction but still surely speaks to many folks! I enjoyed it all the way through!

Your voice is a perfect match for this style and band … smooth and rich and yet tender also.

SWEET! The lights are out at O'Leary's and Greg Johnson is singing. Dang, man, this is a sad song and I'm so glad for you it is fictitious. What a glorious voice, Greg. I love songs like this and, man, can you ever write them so well. This is one of those again-and-again songs. Each of the instruments are the perfect choice and the mix is top-notch. You are such a wonderful artist, sir.

Wow! Great write, great vocal, excellent arrangement. I agree with Nigel that the vocals could use a bit of a cut on the bass, but that's a minor nit. I love it!
