Hi Forum friends. Hope you all well!! Hearing some great stuff here, and hoping to get some more time to spend with you all! This is a song I did with fave BIAB band.......backpacker guitars, 366 RT Bass, EP held chords, Brent RnB acoustic solo guitar, and a flute sample (Fluffy audio free version). Hope you enjoy it! Would love to hear what you think. Take care. Greg
Grabontoyourlife
Meetings and deadlines Reading the headlines On airport TVs Life gets so blurry You hustle and hurry Always somewhere to be
You travel so fast Turning future into pas Without ever knowing Just where or just why you are going
Grab on to your life before it disappears Make sure to find some meaning in the passing years You live you days inside a haze just trying to hang on Go and find your life before it’s gone
Phone calls and late nights Taxis and late flights Are fraying your nerves Where is the down time? The kicking around time That we all deserve?
You ask yourself when You get to feel like a person again It’s good to have drive But you need to find a way to survive
Grab on to your life before it disappears Make sure to find some meaning in the passing years You live you days inside a haze just trying to hang on Go and find your life before it’s gone
Man, you know I gush with accolades just at the mention of your name, Greg. Yep, a big fan. Sensational harmony. So well crafted. It doesn't get any better than this. Excellent lyrics, too. Yeah, I agree with you about the Style, and we all know that you can make any one of them sound right. This one really lets the strong vocals shine. SO well done. Good write and production.
Great job, Greg! Excellent choice of production for the lyrics and your vox are spot on. Great backing vox and harmonies. The chorus really stands out melodically which is essential for a good song (in my book anyways). This has a CSNY feel to it. Can't wait to hear more from you.
Cool song, Greg! Super band and LOVE the vocal arrangement. That solo acoustic is a nice accent, too. It just SOUNDS so very, very nice. All that and a MESSAGE that matters, too! Well done.
WOW that song sound AWESOME !!! The vocals are spot on Radio Ready, the mix, production, backing tracks all sound great. Love the flute, the harmonies, the chord changes, the overall groove. Very Nice Job on this one.
The rhythm section is beautifully chosen sample-wise. Your vocals and BVs are 100%, and it's lyrically excellent too, so 10 out of 10 on this brilliant song!
Terrific tune. I like the sweet melodic turns the song takes, and the vocal and lovely harmonies. Perfect production to match some really great lyrics. Excellent work on this one!!
I love your lyrics and the way you perform them, and those harmonies are great. Simple arrangement that works perfectly for the song. The song reminds me of a song I've heard before, but I can't place it exactly. Great work!
Hi Greg. Cool song with a valuable "stop and smell the roses " message. Lovely smooth vocal with a CS&N vibe. What's not to like about this song? Are you a professional vocalist? I love this and gotta check out more of your material.
Wonderful song, with very good harmonies! Where Brain wrote it reminded him of a song he heard before, I had the same. The Alessi brothers came up in my head, but not that high vocals like in Oh Lori.
Whatever, you did a very good job on this song. Smooth, entertaining and also just lovely ;-)
Greg...this is just another example of your immense talent...as a writer, composer and artist you excel...I love the style you chose...it has that soft acoustic rock and folky vibration (ala: James Taylor) going on...you excel in this genre...love the message and cadence of the piece...great mix and your harmonies are my favorite...you and Torrey (Bliss) kill the harmonies in your songs...just so good!!
Very good message for us living in this hectic world, busy situations well described, reading headlines all the time seems to be a sin of the modern times. The melody and chords are really sweet, almost too sweet to care about the message "Grab On to Your Life" & "find some meaning in the passing years" when you can just float in this sweetness. The band is very pleasant, has nice 70's feel without the increasing hurry of the later decades. And those smooth vocals and harmonies create a nice tapestry of haziness.
You are one of my all-time favorite writers. You are one of my favorite singers. You are one of my favorite artists.
You should be famous.

Yeah, what he said!
You're so damn good at everything you do - at least as far as music is concerned. Those vocal harmonies are so sweet and buttery. You're a bundle of talent that should be opened and appreciated everywhere.
This song is a great display of your many musical talents.
I've had a very good career in music for over 50 years. Some of my very fondest musings about that is the 5 or 6 songs we've collaborated on over the past 6 or 8 years. They're very special.
When I think of musical talent, you're one of the very first names that come to mind.
My only suggestions: 1. Vocal volume up x 2 in the verses. 2. Replace the boomy sound throughout the song (not sure what it is) but it's masking the all important vocals.
That flute part is a wonderful counter melody...it's also an excellent analogy for your voice ...warm, floating, nimble. You've assembled a great band to provide the perfect bed for our melody & story. ACE.
Greg, this is fantastic. You have a great voice and you know how to use it! Plus you write some fantastic lyrics. "Go and find your life before it’s gone", what a great line, The perfect backing band and mix. Loved it
