My jazz composition "Shooting Star" using Swainson, Black, and Clarke as my rhythm section
Bass is Acoustic Jazz Swing 140
Piano is Acoustic Rhythm Jazz Swing 140
Drum is Jazz #1 set to favor artists sometimes

https://audio.com/george-peter-tingley/3

I did the backing track at home, bringing this to 25th Street Recording in Oakland CA
where I met up with tenor saxophonist George Brooks.

I brought the recording back home to mix and tweak where I also
added more percussion and MIDI horns plus one BIAB trumpet lick toward the end.
I also played additional virtual piano - Pianoteq's NY Steinway D.

Note: I withheld the bass until nearly the 2 minute mark because I was
happy hearihg the drum kit in a kind of hip hop kind of way. I also wanted to
save something for the dramatic entry of the bass.

I'm by no means a Jazz fan, but the saxophone is really good and a pleasure to listen to.
Well done!

Great jazz, surprising and intresting sax solo. The brass section stabs and unisons are wonderful. Nice work. Could have used a piano solo, too.
Nice to hear.

Nice, George. Nice rhythm section, and I couldn't wait for the bass. Cool entry though under a hail of cymbals. Man, George Brooks is just perfect. Taste, tone, touch and very creative. Excellent what you did with the MIDI guys. That trumpet filled in perfectly. Very enjoyable listen.

Enjoy whatever happens!
