I said I wouldn't post any more new songs, for a while. And this is still true; this one is a song I wrote a while ago, but which I forgot to post on here I've rememebered it because it's the final piece in the jigsaw for my new, second "vanity album", called From Me, With Love . Incidentally, Bandcamp allows me to gift the album (for download) to the first 200 people who order it ... so, if you want to download it, for free (of course), go for it ... there's already been one taker, so far Anyway, here's this old song that became the last piece of the jigsaw for the album. It's called The Yellow, Gold Coin . Hope you like it - as always, all listens and feedback are wonderfully welcome. Last but not least, thanks PG Music ... I now have two albums, each one containing twenty songs. Without BIAB, this would have been impossible to even dream about. Thank you so much, therefore. LYRICS: God gives everyone A yellow, gold coin, To invest in anything We find most fine. At the end of our lives, God comes to see What you've done with the coin He gave to thee. So then, when He'll come And gently ask me: "What did you do with that gold coin I gave to thee?" I shall answer Him, happily, And softly, so true: That yellow gold coin, you know, I spent it on you. I spent some of it When you smiled at me, I spent much of it To stop your tears, you see. And, when you hugged me, I cried, for I was poor; I spent all I had On my only amour. *** So then, when He'll come And gently ask me: "What did you do with that gold coin I gave to thee?" I shall answer Him, happily, And softly, so true: That yellow gold coin, you know, I spent it on you. *** That yellow gold coin, you know, I spent it on you. ****** Song Summary ************* Title: The Yellow, Gold Coin - 12 December 2022 File:The Yellow, Gold Coin - 12 December 2022.SGU Key=F , Tempo 85, Length (m:s)=2:38 No intro. 52 bar chorus, from bar 1 to bar 52. Hi James ...
You are so good with Spoken Word. A really lovely and tender song. The backing tracks are perfect. Might I suggest a little less bass on the vocal? Nonetheless, this was a truly great listen!

HA! Love that, James. You saddened us by saying you wouldn't be posting any new ones for awhile, but brightened us up with this OLD one. I just heard this the other day when I got your whole album. Thanks so much for that, my friend.

James,
A very interesting write. The vocal is a touch "boom-y" on my speakers.

Ray: no hurry to comment! Thanks for downloading the album! Scott C: thanks! Al: yes, that vocal has given me a few problems when recording, unlike a few other songs of mine, no idea why. I will listen again - I think you may well have found what it is, I was probably too tired to notice, when recording ... thanks Bob: thanks! Marty: haha. There had to be a way around things, right? Glad you liked the song - thanks for listening! floyd: thank you. Glad you enjoyed the write - yes, the voice (as I said above) needs listening to, once more. Thanks for listening!

James,
Great reminder that God gives us abilities that we are warned not to just bury them in the sand and walk away and not use them! Glad to see you using your gift for writing songs and posting your work! This one is a very nice piece!
Thanks, TB

Elliot: thanks Torrey: the parable of the unused gift has been on my mind, of late. I'm glad you've enjoyed this song, and think I'm doing something fruitful with my time by writing it Thanks so much for listening and for your kind words!

Positive gifts need to be exploited indeed ... and particularly those of a musical nature.
Nice production and addition to the compilation and here's hoping for many downloads!
