This is an instrumental song of praise I put together just being thankful for all the things we take for granted in life, like the next sunrise! I am working on lyrics for this and will try a version with vocals one day hopefully! I used only drums from BIAB on this an even 16ths set but I don't have the set name with me presently. I used several loops in this and I played guitars and added percussion and synth work. Thanks so much for the listen!!

Torrey

Loved the excellent guitar work (played along). Pretty inventive stuff, and a bright breezy sound.
Very nice and evocative.

Torrey,
That`s a really good melody embellished beautifully by your twin leads-a high skill set on display in every department here.
Complete as this is, its going to be interesting to hear the song emerge.

Stellar. laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

WOW!!! This is absolutely beautiful!

Would you care to share what instruments/synths patches you used?

That nylon string sound is absolutely stunning. In fact it reminds me of Daryl Stuermer, who played with Jean Luc Ponty, Genesis, among others, and particularly two of my favorite songs on my favorite of his solo albums: the title track Waiting in the Wings (albeit at a more laid back tempo...which is a good thing IMO!), and melodically, the following song Wherever You Are.

Excellent melody Torrey - I'm sure you're brain is only having trouble sorting out which phrases you'll use as the structure and flow seem to make words happen immediately.
Excellent playing as usual.

Great melody and love the double leads!

Looking forward to hearing it with vocals but this stands on it's own as an instrumental.

As good as it gets IMHO, really enjoyed the listen!

Torrey,

Excellent instrumental. Nice playing. Cool stuff happening throughout.
There were times when I thought the drums were mixed a bit too low (volume-wise) - when the music gets its "biggest" they almost get drown out. This rest of the mix is excellent.

A great listen.

Nice, open, airy and simply wonderful playing.

Janice says it gave her "happy feet!" smile

The arrangement with your performances, the loops and the drums is really standout.
Everything has its comfortable spot on the soundstage.

We enjoyed it!

Torrey,
you can easily sneak this in to Acoustic Alchemy's "bonus tracks" smile
Super tune! Very nice composition and stunning nylon string playing!
Very enjoyable even without lyrics.

Thank you for sharing!

Misha.

This is nicely done.

It has a light airy feeling as some others have mentioned. I'd also say there's more than a little bit of a jazz influence in there too.

One of the things I tend to obsess over is my twin leads. It's often a lot of work and effort to get the 2 different leads exactly the same in their phrasing and in their harmony. What I heard here was quote a bit of dead on then it wandered.... If that was intentional, or you got lazy.... and I don't mean that in a bad way.... it takes a lot of time and overdubs to nail it exactly.... it still sounded really good. I'm just picking nits.

I also felt the drums could have used a bit more strength.... more thump in the kick/snap in the snare.... and again... just a personal preference.

All together, a nice job and a really creative melody in that song. I enjoyed it.

Thanks Robert for the listen! It may take some time to do the vocal version. The tempo will also gave to be slowed down to allow the correct vocal phrasing. T

Thanks DB! I actually wasn't really satisfied with my tone on this. I just ran it into guitar rig 5 and used some effects there. I should have taken the time and ran it through my acoustic amp and miced it. It probably would have had a warmer sound. I may try that at some point. I used a synth with some female voice sounds. The loops were those wonderful piano sounds and one more synth sound I purchased from Big Fish Audio. Thanks for the kind words. T

I totally hear you re: the whole micing the amp-in-the-room thing!

All that tech out there w/ amp sims cabinet sims and impulse responses etc,.. Call me old-fashioned, but to my (admittedly non-pro) ears, nothing beats a good 'ol guitar > amp > mic setup.

BTW, is that a Godin Multiac you're wielding in your profile pic? I'm unassuming that's what you played in this awesome track?
