Home (2020, Christiane Spruit)

I've walked the blazing city lights
I've been acquainted with the night
I drop my eyes, when people walking by

Always remember, in these cold night of November
You keep an eye on the fire for me
At home

And I try and try and try
And I'm trying all the time
To get it right this time,
To get it right

I gave you the key to my back door,
the one I never opened up before
Falling in love can brave a heart

Don't fight a fire,
when the flames are getting higher
your warm embrace, will make this place a home.

Yes I try and try and try
And I'm trying all the time
To get it right this time,
To get it right

Home
Home
Home is where our hearts revealing
Be still, be brave, my heart

Solo

Yes I try and try and try
And I'm trying all the time
To get it right this time,
To get it right

Home is where my hearts revealing

And I try and try and try
Home

We will also do a video for it, I'll update this post with a link when that happens.

Dave & Chris & Marty...

Love that opening.

Another exceptional song. A strong write - killer anthem feel.

LOVE the new BGVs group!! Awesome.

Marty's bass is perfect. Good punch and very melodic.

Of course, the always excellent Dave Bell guitar.

Chris has outdone herself on the vocals (again).

A great listen (on my 3rd). Love it.

Hi Team,

It's Starship reborn!

I DO love a good rock ballad and this one REALLY rocks.
Chris sounding like Grace Slick again, Marty letting loose on
a more virtuoso bass part and some classic guitar lines from Dave.
Oh, and those BVs - brilliant.

And a fabulous, powerful mix.

One minor thing - I'd go over the top with some more delay and reverb
on Dave's soaring guitar and then bring it up a bit more in the mix, but
I know Floyd will say that's just me being a typical guitarist!

Anyway guys, loved the whole thing.

ROG.

Dave:
++BGV's, really great.
Your guitar solo's/inserts real tasteful and complimentary to the overall feel.
I especially liked how the male voices became more prominent toward the end--gave it a "feels the same for us guys, too" sense.

Mid-way, this song made me chuckle--it probably wasn't meant to be taken this way, but I couldn't help thinking of all the times during marriage when it seems like every little "great idea" turns out to be--well, you just have to keep trying!

Thanks for this excellent track!

BIG production sound with the lead & harmony vocals making an huge impact.
Everyone's parts are what the song needed.
That bass...an even steady sound right up the fretboard. What sort of bass & treatment?
Loved the entire package.

This really pushed the air around nicely. I picked up some small flat response monitors recently, and I must say this mix of yours sounds the best on these of anything on the showcase I've heard so far. Lushness. Loved the band, voices (lead, harmony and unison) and the solo play. In that "solo play" I'd also include Marty. Even though he didn't tale a "solo", those lines and rhythm were an entertainment to themselves. Altogether lovely, and all, together, lovely.

Hi, Ray. This is a 1993 Fender Stu Hamm precision with Rotosound flatwound strings going direct into Cakewalk through a Focusrite. I usually use CLA Bass from Waves, but send it to Dave dry. Thanks.

Enjoy whatever happens!

What a soulful, soaring, big rock ballad sound from the band!
I had to do a double take: we finally get to hear Dave & Marty sing for Blue Attitude... and the result is impressive.
The bar has been raised again:look forward to the video.

Excellent big production. I was going to point out various instruments I liked, but they just kept coming.

And... same with the vocals.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Big bold and entertaining.

Loved the vocals - great arrangement, and the guitars and bass were just right.

A wonderful ensemble piece beautifully played.

Team,
I do not know if it can get "better". You set this bar pretty high. It would be a shame to try to pull something out and try to comment on individual items. Usually hits are accepted as a whole. In my view, it is one. The only thing besides congratulations, I will mention is, BGV was a great idea. Thank you for sharing!

P.S. Listened outdoors on the phone through wireless over ear headphones and at home on K702 AKG headset. Sounds great on both!

Misha.

BlueAttitude (each of you):

Y’all are just too darn good. The production if so professional . . . so balanced, crisp, nuanced, powerful. Dang, the mix on all those harmonies in the bridge . . . perfect. Brilliant work, just brilliant!

My humble regards,

Deej

Thanks for the great review, ROG!

I'll revisit the guitars once it's time to do a new CD, we always go over all of the songs with a fine tooth comb before we commit them to CD.
