Hi all,
I've composed the melody of this instrumental. It's played with the DreamPiano of my Yamaha QY700.

Oooo, I really love this opening, how the instruments are added perfectly. Quite and engaging melody, Chris, and that dreamy piano sound really brings it out so well. Man, is that all BiaB? So creatively good, and the tune is developed so well.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanks Marty,
All instruments are BIAB realtracks except the melody.
I've first composed it on my guitar and then I've played it with a midi keyboard on my Yamaha QY700 with the DreamPiano sound.

A pleasing ratio of dissonance and harmony, skillfully matched with an intriguing chord progression conveys both melancholy and mystery. Not sure that the snare drum was necessary but it did add interest. Refreshingly different.

My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile smile

Hi Chris,

A lovely evocative piece of music - the piano is the highlight.

Yes - I would drop the drums.

I can see it being used in a movie score.

Best Regards
Nigel

Thanks Brian and Nigel for your comments,
To keep or not to keep the drums ? That's the question !
I've just added it to increase the feeling of break...
But I can obviously understand your point of view.

Excellent haunting chord progression together with the dreamy melody reflects 'blue' of the title. The band adds the peaceful 'lullaby' mood, the banjo sounds bit like a clock ticking, thus adding kind of a scary element. Sounds very creative, definitely good tune for a movie.

Chris...very soothing and mysterious...the lullaby may not put the baby to sleep but it sure relaxes me...very beautiful melody...quite haunting...like a soundtrack to an Alfred Hitchcock classic...(the baby's sleeping but something is creeping up on her)...great movie stuff IMO...it is paradoxically soothing and unsettling at the same time...really cool!

Thanks Janne and Firesong for your comments.
I've written some lyrics on this melody and my friend, Christian Braut sings...
