INSIDE LYRIC VIDEO

If you can't say something good about someone don't say..... you know how it goes!

Well folks here I am eating my own words! On my last song post I stated it would probably be a while before I posted another one but this song hit me like a bolt out of the blue! I had to carve out some time to work on it before I lost the inspiration for it! Funny how that works! I feel good about this one and hope you folks feel it deserved the time to put it together! I guess that this one would fall in the Country Rock genre but correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks again for taking time to have a listen!

Words and music by
Torrey Bliss BMI © 2021

I could keep my thoughts inside or just say what's on my mind
But sometimes there is no filter in between
This battle's older than the wheel, hold my tongue or let it spill
Show my cards or let 'em stay unseen.
The golden rule we must obey, and live it every day
Treat my brother like I hope he'll treat me
I could point out where he's wrong, even put it in a song
But deep down he's surely better than me

Inside I am putting out big fires, I'm running on bald tires
I'm fighting wars that no-one has seen
Inside I'm a unity endorser, subjective non-observer
Of faults like you'd see in me on the inside

Not a penny for my thoughts, they're not really worth a lot
If I don't keep that gossip to myself
The place I really must begin, is to look deep within
And judge myself before my friend

Inside I am putting out big fires, I'm running on bald tires
I'm fighting wars that no-one has seen
Inside I'm a unity endorser, subjective non-observer
Of faults like you'd see in me
Inside I am fighting off giants, I'm shaky yet defiant
I'm holding on and I still believe
Inside I still wanna keep the fire, with passion and desire
To be the man that I should be

On the inside I know there's Someone out there
Who keeps working on me
On the inside I'm changing day by day
Into who I'm supposed to be

Inside I am putting out big fires, I'm running on bald tires
I'm fighting wars that no-one has seen
Inside I'm a unity endorser, subjective non-observer
Of faults like you'd see in me
Inside I am fighting off giants, I'm shaky yet defiant
I'm holding on and I still believe
Inside I still wanna keep the fire, with passion and desire
To be the man that I should be
On the inside

Yep, justanoldmuso stole my response - wow!

This is a big sound. Great use of BIAB but the lyrics and that electric guitar are the stars of this show.

I love the message. It's my daily struggle - restraint of tongue and pen. It's usually two steps up and one step back for me. It's a life long effort. Well worth it though.

Top notch work here.

Excellent country pop rock Torrey.
Great chorus melody.
Something I've not mentioned but often noted is your excellent diction while singing.

Good band..well augmented by your own parts.

Ace, truly ace.

Cheers

Torrey This was a breath of fresh air to me !, well produced and mixed , vocals deliver the song to its best !!,

I likened this to a brit band called Squeeze , now thats a compliment !!.

squeeze ..https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=squeeze+labeled+with+love&&view=detail&mid=2CC0FF0CF149813F28D42CC0FF0CF149813F28D4&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dsqueeze%2520labeled%2520with%2520love%26qs%3Dn%26form%3DQBVR%26sp%3D-1%26ghc%3D1%26pq%3Dsqueeze%2520labeled%2520with%2520love%26sc%3D8-25%26sk%3D%26cvid%3D075A08F722FA4D5EBE6567AC3DCACE6E

Oh....so, "you're that damn Torrey dude" that keeps the bar high around here.

I echo all other comments.
Very upbeat, great vox/bg and just a pleasure to listen to.

Well done!...per usual.

You don't say, Torrey. Man, you seem to be hit by this bolt so often. Really good one here, too. The melody is really cool and moving, and the lyrics add to it. You know, you sound like the amalgamation of all the best bands I ever enjoyed. Lightning bolts aren't random --they always seek the best receptacle, and these bolts out of the blue know where to strike for the best results.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Torrey,

Excellent write!

A quality production. Nice use of the BAND and nice additions of your own.

Terrific vocals. As always.
You sound really different at the beginning of the song. I looked back to your comments to see if it was someone else...

Super catchy chorus! You do Pop the way it ought to be done. Songs worth hearing many times over.

Excellent all around.

You're on a serious roll, this one is great, too. Catchy as all get out. Nothing more to say except that you're working at a really high level these days!

Torrey,

WOW! This is an absolutely GREAT song.

Your mixes are always excellent, but this one sounds even better than usual. I love the vocal and how everything sounds so present and crisp.

This is really an outstanding piece of music.

Hi Torrey.
The name Torrey Bliss is synonomous with quality as this song demonstrates. At first glance the lyrics seemed too wordy
but you shoehorned them fautlessly into the narrative with all the stressed syllables beatmatching to perfection.
You have assembled a fine band which supports and compliments the dexterity of your pleasing and fitting guitar playing. Do I detect a Brad Paisley/Tim McGraw vibe in your excellent vocals? Chorus harmonies sound great.
Song , Lyrics , message, arrangement, mix , vox....all first class. Glad you snuck this one in !
Thats too many superlatives ... I'm getting soft in my old age smile
regards
Gary.
