Hello, forum friends

This song is written for the recording session of our music circle last winter.
I would like to introduce you two versions, which are the live band version and the RealTrack version.
The RealTrack version was made for the vocalist to practice this song.
I usually prepare the vocaloid version of the song made with BIAB in advance for vocalists.
Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Summary of lyrics

At the lovers' window
The sound of the cello is flowing
It's like the melody woven between lovers
There are two people with kind hearts
Holding hands and swearing our love to each other

I can see with my eyes falling in love
What true love looks like
I can hear the angels singing
Now I have just found
The only love in this world

If I encounter sadness
I will bury my cheeks wet with tears
in my love's chest
After crying until I feel relieved
And when my heart is clear
I will regain my smile and kindness again

Let's look at the future together
Let's grow our dreams together
We're both heading towards the same hope
I'm going to live my life as the days pass by
loving and being loved
Until the day when our lives return to forever

Shigeki, these are both very nice, dreamy arrangements. I love Kiana's vocals a little more than Hatsune's, but only because I heard them back to back and could compare them. The Hatsune vocals can stand on their own. The mixes are very well balanced and everything sounds the way it should. Well done!

Shigeki Adachi,

An excellent use of BIAB - to present an arrangement for your live players.

The Live Band Version is beautiful.
Kiana's vocals are delightful.
The Strings are gorgeous.

Hi Shigeki,

Your music is always so professional. I listen to most of both posts. I preferred the lived band version. But the other version has such gorgeous strings. Both are wonderful! I always enoy your music. Excellent work!

wishing you the best,

Alan

Superb, Shigeki. That is one of the most common ways I used BiaB before 2020. But, man, never as good as all this.

I first listened to live version, and was totally blown away by the sound of those strings. Terrific writing, my friend. I really enjoy and appreciate the sound of the RT version, but... WOW, that vocaloid has a tough act to follow. Kiana is so breathtakingly good that I had to go back for another listen. It was like clensing the auditory pathways of the soul. Her quality is so good that I didn't even care to see the translation until the 3rd listen. Splendid, Shigeki.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Shigeki, although the RT version was good I much preferred the live band version.
Kiana has a fantastic voice.
You are an outstanding arranger and composer.
Loved it.

Shigeki, both versions are great but the live version really shines. Kiana is a star. It’s great that you have a music circle. The strings sound perfect. I really enjoyed listening, Tom

Hi Shigeki,

I have listened and to and enjoyed both versions. Good song, excellent instrumentation and very well sung.

One suggestion - I found the vocals a touch loud and a touch too upfront. I suggest trying a 2Db reduction and maybe a little more medium sized room reverb.

I would love to hear a remix.

Best Regards
Nigel

Beautiful song and excellent use of BiaB. Does Miku sing in English?

Hi, Shigeki.

Weird, I know I wrote a comment yesterday. Maybe I didn't press "Post Reply"... frown

I listened to both versions.

The BiaB version works well. It's a bit more cut back and intimate. I found Hatsune Miku's unvoiced consonants unpleasant, but it's not your fault - I don't think Vocaloid ever did a good job with them. I can't help mentioning that SynthesizerV sounds much better, but Miku is there as a guide for the singer, and for that, she's perfect. So there's no need to change what works.

Nice melody, and good lyric as well.

As good as the BiaB version is, the live version is so much better. Kiana sounds great, and the string writing is a real treat to listen to.

I love it! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I listened to both. I prefer the intro in the BIAB version simply because the high strings in the live one seem a bit thin and shrill.
The full BIAB is lovely but the live version wins not only becasue of the performances but for the charming vocal Kiana presents.
LOVELY stuff.

Cheers

Hello WaoBand,

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I am really glad you like this tune.
An English version of Miku is also available.
However, Miku's English pronunciation is not good.
And I can write some sentences in English, but I can't write lyrics in English, so I have never used the English version of Miku.
I am very encouraged by your kind words.

Best regards.

David,

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
And many thanks for listening to the both versions.
I am really glad you like this tune Kiana's Vocal and my arrangement.
Miku was the first vocaloid developed in Japan, so she has a number of faults.
However, her voice is really cute, so she has had a lot of fans since her release.
I am also one of them.
I have downloaded Synth V, but I have not used it yet.
Recently, the number of Synth V users has been increasing in Japan, so I think the time will come when I will need to use it too.
I am always very encouraged by your kind words.

Best regards.
