Hey guys...my project this week was to "fix" a song I've always liked but never liked (if you know what I mean)...I posted it a couple of years ago but didn't like the vocals or the arrangement or the mix (not much left is there?)...so, here's my latest attempt...I think it's a country/rock ballad...anyway...if you do...thanks for listening and commenting as well...Dan

Dan,

I don't remember the original version, but this cut sounds great. Absolutely wonderful vocals and production.

I think you accomplished your mission. This song sounds complete to me. It needs nothing now, but to be enjoyed.

Dan, you have an outstanding voice and you always pick the perfect backing tracks to showcase it.

This is fantastic as is so put it in the can as it is finished.

Outstanding mix.

Great message.

Another winner.

What a cool vocal Dan. Loved the way you mixed this song. Loved the reverb on the vocal. Awesome live feel. Really well done.

Nice work on the piano, and of course the vocal is stellar.

I don't recall the original, but this sounds great to me, well done.

Gorgeous, like all the music mae, Dan. Yes, I know what you mean by liking but not. I bet this version has totally removed the "but not." Terrific creation, and I don't remember the last version, but if I heard it I know I would've loved it. Yes, terrific piano!! Played with passion and precision. Loved it. Your vocals and harmony added to your playing and creativity is the perfect formula for a great song.

Enjoy whatever happens!

WOW, Dan, just WOW! I love the rhyme scheme and the easy flow of the lyrics. The smoothness of all of your songs are spot-on - a strong foundation of well-chosen words and how you phrase them and then adding your productions and amazing vocals.

You are a professional in your composing, production, and vocals. Are you sharing your God-given talents beyond the BIAB forum? You need to be heard, my friend, because of your talents and ultimately good messages.

Na zdrowie!

Dewey...thanks so much for your kind words...right now the forum and my soundclick website are the outlets for the songs...I traveled with a band of friends for about 40 years sharing the songs...I'm in the twilight of it all at this point...I'm using BiaB to re-track and catalogue my 400+ songs...I have over 300 done at this point...Dan

Dan,

What a nice song!
Very good melody and -of course- your vocals and clever lyrics!
At the first moment of hearing, I thought the reverb was a bit to much, but that feeling disappeared very soon after.
The music needed it.

And your pianoplay is very nice. Wish I could play like that!
Dan, this is a very entertaining song.
Played it a couple of times,

Hans

Dan,

Well, I don’t recall the original version . . . but this one is lovely and sweet sounding. Your vocal on this is outstanding. Just wonderfully done . . . those BGVs really resonate and are perfectly balanced. Excellent!

Hope all is well in your world,

It's very Josh Groban in style, arrangement and performance.
It's a sumptuous listen, (if I render the lyric to sounds - but you know me by now).
The only musical nit I have is the use of the steel guitar - yes it fits/works but I'd have preferred those swells to have been a slightly overdriven strat sound.

Cheers

Hey Firesong,

This is great - production, songwriting and singing. Its amazing how prolific you are. I just finished, while walking, to listening to eight songs of yours. I'm new to checking out BIAB demos, but I got told off for posting songs without first listening and commenting on others, so I started with yours, and will get to others shortly. I sent you a private message (via email) and look forward to hearing more from you.

The vocals, arrangement and mix sound good to us and we hope you’re pleased with this revision too. smile

Your blend of the BiaB tracks with your performances and Genos programming are seamless.
Like a well-honed studio group ... excellent.

The sincerity in your vocals for the lyric is evident and always shines.

Enjoyed it!
