SoundCloud Link: https://soundcloud.com/pkimbrell/shijie-guitars-tm6?si=82026bab961d4b77821a16d1f12d3ff2&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharingTitle: Shijie Guitars TM6 I called it that name for the title because it is the guitar that I used to record the lead guitar parts. Background Info: The background information for this song is that I listened to the BIAB demo and thought it would be a really good track to practice jamming to with my guitar. I changed up the chords of the demo and then imported the WAV files into my DAW. I then practiced seeing if I could make it from start to finish through the song and recorded each take as I did them. I did a total of seven takes before my fingers got tired and then used my DAW to take the best parts of each take. I really didn't even know it was going to come out as an actual song because this was my first time I had used BIAB files in my DAW and also it was the first time that I ever edited anything in Studio One. This was just a huge learning experience for me and all came about by simply just trying to create a background track with BIAB and to have fun jamming over it. I'm really just thrilled how it turned out given the fact that it was my first project. As far as mixing goes I just did the best I could and for mastering I ran it through eMastered which did an AI master for me. I have no idea how to do actual mastering so I thought the eMastered was amazing and took like 3 minutes to upload and spit out the mastered version. Song Lyrics (N/A) The lead guitar track was recorded by me and the bass, drums, and rhythm guitars were generated by BIAB. ****** Song Summary ************* Title: 1 File:1.SGU Key=G , Tempo 120, Length (m:s)=3:42 No intro. 36 bar chorus, from bar 1 to bar 36. Repeat x3 choruses Song is saved with Volume, Pan, Reverb, Chorus, Bank0, Style is _TEXASRK.STY RealTracks in style: 1419:Bass, Electric, TexasRock Ev 120 RealTracks in style: 657:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasRockChop Ev 120 RealTracks in style: 660:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasRockCrisp Ev 120 RealDrums in Style: RockTexas^1-a:Snare, Hihat , b:Snare, Loose Sync ******************* List other programs used in the production (e.g. DAWs like Pro Tools, Cakewalk, Cubase etc.) I used the DAW Studio One Any other additional information about your recording and mixing process - e.g. what effects were used in the production (reverb, auto-tune etc). To record my guitar part I used PT Fire Breather Lead in Guitar Rig 6 which is a setting by Pete Thorn. I didn't tweak the setting at all and just played it as is. My interface is the AXE I/O by IK Multimedia and I recorded the guitar takes straight into the Studio One DAW. I used a little bit of EQ and compression on the bass, drums, and rhythm guitar tracks that were generated by BIAB. I used a plugin on the master fader called Lurssen Mastering Console and chose a rock preset. Then, for mastering I uploaded the file to eMaster at https://emastered.com/?refid=14848566 and it spat out the mastered version of the song in literally like 3 minutes. I'm so glad to have found that because I have no idea how to even begin mastering a song. Below is one a video of one of the 7 takes that I did before editing and creating the song that is in my Soundcloud link at the top of this post. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qfrbn421C_oI noticed the title of the song is supposed to be in the subject so I edited it. Sorry, didn’t notice that when I posted it originally.

Probably one of the best "first" recordings with BIAB, good song, nicely mixed and great guitar playing and sound. Welcome

Great first post! A real rocker. Super chops. Excellent tone. Well mixed.
My dad showed me a 30-minute PowerPoint presentation of why one should always wear a condom during sex. They were all pictures of me!

Thank you folks for the comments. I really appreciate that! Now that I know how a little bit of how to import BIAB files into my DAW and record my own parts with them I have to figure out how to create and insert bridge sections so it doesn't sound the same all the way from start to finish.
Hey, I have a couple of questions since I'm new here. Hope you don't mind my asking but I searched and couldn't find the answers.
First, how did some people embed the YouTube video and Soundcloud player in their forum posts? I clicked on the "edit" button and tried to do that but couldn't figure it out.
Second, in the forum posts lists there's a red parenthesis on some posts with a negative number that looks like this: (-#). What does that mean?
Thank you again.

I just noticed that I was supposed to use the song title in the subject. I just edited the subject line. Sorry, I didn’t notice upon originally making the post.

Nice! Impressive first post! As for your questions, if you choose the full screen editor mode, there's an icon in the menu for inserting a video link to YouTube, or you could do it manually with: [video:youtube] URL There's no special tag for SoundCloud, so you have to use a regular link tag, also in the menu: title You don't need the part up to and after the '?', that's just for SoundCloud to track the link: https://soundcloud.com/pkimbrell/shijie-guitars-tm6?si=82026bab961d4b77821a16d1f12d3ff2&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharingSo in your case, that would be: Shijie Guitars TM6 Which would give you: Shijie Guitars TM6

Welcome to the Showcase, Paddy. What a great first post, too. The guitar sounds good-- really good. Well played. BiaB is a great tool for practicing. Got my first copy when it was still on floppy. You did a good job with the mix and chose a great band to back you. You even managed to do your own "Multitracks" and it sounds so good. Looking forward to more!

It's a good feature for the guitar - by the way the link wasn't useful for promotion because they don't have the model available to look at. I'm not sure it's a successful "guitar" instrumental in the classic 60s sense as there wasn't a lot of melody to stick to but it sounded good.
