I'm such a fool
to let you go
I broke all the rules
and I hurt you so
I'm such a fool
A fool to let you go

I made some mistakes
Fooled around baby
Now my heart aches
Driving me crazy
I'm such a fool
A Fool to let you go

I had a roving eye
I didn't realize
Oh how I know you cry
And made fool of you

I'm such a fool
To let you go
I broke all the rules
and hurt you so
I'm such a fool
a fool to let you go

Except my apologies baby
I'm so sorry you were hurt
Can you forgive me now baby
Take this full back home

I'm such a fool
To act that way
You sent me to school
Lessons I've learned
Please be cool now baby

And love this fool again
And love this fool again
And love this fool again

Elliott I got a 50's slow dance vibe with this one. I could hear someone like Fats Domino sing this.
I like your vocal and chord progression.
Good supporting band.

Indeed has a nice 50s vibe, great vocals and arrangement, love what you did with the B3 and piano.
The drums in the verses are a bit too loud for my taste, but otherwise it's really very good.

At 2:43 there is some nasty distortion on your vocals, but I guess you already noticed that.

I never really thought it was a '50s song but you and several other people have been telling me this.

Originally wrote it as a kind of a Ray Charles blues number.

I guess it really is a '50s kind of sound.

This is why feedback is good.
Thanks

Hi Elliott,

This is right up my alley.

Loved the feel and I'm sure I heard touches of Doctor John in some of your vocals (which is a very good thing).

Best Regards
Nigel

Hello Elliott,

I also have that '50 feeling when hearing your song.
It, AND your very good voice, has a similar vibe as songs of that time.
A lot of singers swirled through my mind, but I couldn't get the right one that was comparable with your song.

But you did a great job with this one, certainly no fool! On several occasions your vocals became so raspy (if that's the right word), I loved that.
If only Ray C could have listened to it...

EK,
I like this.
Good band and your vocal does have some Dr John in it's wide vibrato.
The one thing that stuck out was that the drum intro was way too loud.
It is a good part and, apart from setting expectations for a much louder song, is a classic of the style.

Cheers

We also got the slow dance vibe and can feel the Ray Charles influence.

The piano stands out nice in the fine mix.
Excellent soundstage on our monitors.

Also, you vocals are strong and we love the harmony.

Enjoyed it and well done!
