Hi All,

I was so blown away by the song David created for me - I had to return the favor with this little folk song.

This one's for you David!

This is called Man Named David.

Heard a man named David
Down Carolina way
He can bring you a story
Make light from shades of gray

He can make the verses dance
He can make them shake and cry
In a place called secret town
Where it’s hard to say goodbye

Sometimes he sounds like Dylan
Or the ghost of Satchmo too
And the cowboy they call Tater Totts
Loves sunday morning blues

Heard a man named David
His rhymes swirl in my head
He plays guitar like a demon
Possessed by the holy shred

He’s got a song for everyone
He’s idles high on caffeine
Then he brings you to your knees
With a tale of seventeen

Sometimes he sounds like Dylan
Or the ghost of Satchmo too
And the cowboy they call Tater Totts
Loves sunday morning blues

Sometimes he sounds like Dylan
Or the ghost of Satchmo too
And the cowboy they call Tater Totts
Loves sunday morning blues

BIAB Tracks:
2914: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Folky16thsBrent 085

As always - thanks for listening!

Bob

Yes, that was very awesome.

Very cleaver and artistic.

Perfect backing tracks.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Read this post this morning, but had to make myself wait to hear it at home. Excellent choice and well worth the wait. Love it, Bob Dean!! Cool photo, too.

Favorite line: "Make light from shades of gray," with "the ghost of Sachmo" a close second.

A terrific tribute!

Enjoy whatever happens!

Bob...what a great retort to that 'ode to you' that David wrote...you guys are amazing...the only problem is that the rest of us are thinking "do me...do me next"...loved it!
