Hi the biab members,

I put down again an atypical soundtrack shot on distorted guitar sounds and loops.

Work method used

Establish the chord grid in Biab. Search for realtracks according to the theme. Extraction of part of midi files of real tracks from vst Biab in Studio one. In a sample logic film guitar soundbank, I found suitable sounds that I put on the extracted melody parts. If I haven't found the sounds I want, I add them with other guitar vsts on which I put appropriate fx effects.

The result is that it goes a bit in all directions without having a real melody and a well-defined common thread. But the goal is to create a variety of atmospheres to illustrate videos. I am aware that this may displease musicians who like a well-made structure. On the other hand, it may be suitable for film scores.

If you have the time or the inclination, please advise me. Thank you.

Derochette,

A very cool soundscape. So many different things to attract the ear. Could definitely work as background to any number of videos.

Well done. A good listen. Excellent mix.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

It sounds very cinematic to us.

The varied sounds could make it a good fit for many film genres.

It takes several listens just to begin to hear all the variations.

Creative, well produced and a pleasure to listen to!

Derochette,
A cool soundscape.... constantly moving with a strong rhythmic backbone and lots of interesting hard-edged sounds. Your process sounds involved to me and I probably wouldn`t understand how some of the MIDI things were done... it all works to create an engaging aural/visual experience!

I could easily see this being used as a movie soundtrack.

Very creative and well done, enjoyed the listen.

Hi Janice & Bud,

It is true that I wanted to create here more an atmosphere based on different sounds and that I did not pay much attention to the melody. Thank you especially for your kind comments which always give me great pleasure.

Hi Robertc,

This soundtrack was built like a patchwork. I looked for sounds that could be integrated on pieces of midi sequences without conflicting and complementing each other. I thank you for your nice comment and your wise advice.

That was one of the more creative uses for BB that I have heard in a while.

Nope... you do not have to write in a structure as defines most pop songs. I found this refreshing in it's freedom to do whatever it wanted. And yep... certainly cinematic in it's feel.

All in all, very well done.

Sounds like it could be used in a number of video or movie situations.
Ready for pitching. Sounds great.

Yes, very creative! I heard a spaghetti western meet an alien, then a samurai then would knows whom else! But it was all done in perfect harmony.

Excellent work!

Hi Derochette (Jani),

I don't know what to say about what I heard in 'One shot guitars'.
A lot happened. At first I tried to search for the melody to get a hold on what was going on.
But there wasn't a melody to find (in the traditional way)! On the other had it was very fascinating what happened in the song.
And it was fascinating me till the end (and once again).
But how to rate it all? I really don't know. Only 'fascinating' stays...
Well done!

Hans

Man do you create some cool sounds with your guitar. This was so cool to listen to on the monitors. There were sounds popping all over the room. Very cool mix. Just loved this. The slow strum on the guitars just growled. Well done..

Hi Deej56, GuitarHacker, vircan,MarioD,Birchwood, Scott C,

I want to thank you all for your kind comments. In this soundtrack, I didn't play any of the sounds on my guitar. I started with biab chords, I took the midi line plus melodic midi lines (search in old midi styles) and I added vst of different guitars on extracted notes that I took in some tracks to add sounds like in a patchwork. It is more a work of research on good tones than on melodic creativity. Thank you again to all of you.

Kindly regard

Fascinating listen. My ears were tuned in for the entire journey.

Instead of just a soundtrack, I could see a video that is created specifically for this, following the textures and emotions of this piece. No mimes though, please. grin
